Larrea Studio
Extension for the Virasoro House
Authors: Daniel Larrea and Leticia Balacek, architects
Location: Caballito, Buenos Aires City, Argentina
Date: 2007
Area of the renovation: 214 m2
In the neighborhood of Caballito, there is a parcel that was purchased by the owners of the Virasoro house with the aim of making an extension to their home. Among other requirements, they wanted to have a large barbecue area to invite the family, a small gym for their daily routines and a studio for the owner. The idea of the project was to integrate the new project in an organic way to the original house. The kitchen, grill and bathrooms were
arranged in a linear way on the wall. In front of the park, on the other hand, breaks were generated in the woodwork, promoting a completely open and permeable view towards the garden.
