Nant y Fall

Ink color and charcoal

1.95 m x 1.50 m

High-quality cotton paper

This piece is created from the encounter between the wild nature of Argentine Patagonia and art. Invited by Nant y Fall Winery in Trevelin, a remote town in the South, I faced the challenge of linking mixed painting techniques with the geographical environment.

The original idea was to create a large-scale artwork to exhibit in the winery. Working outdoors in such an unpredictable natural environment presented constant challenges but also opportunities for the artwork to organically integrate with its surroundings.

On the shores of a lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and the tranquility of the landscape, the artwork took shape. Using mixed techniques of ink, charcoal, and crayons, I allowed nature to influence the creative process. One afternoon, the wind caused the artwork to fall into the lake, floating upside down. However, it resisted the water challenge, transforming into a new interpretation of itself.

‘Nant y Fall' is an exploration of fluidity and transformation in dynamic geographical environments, such as the Argentine Patagonia.
