The parks of Barracas are currently empty places, with no human scale.
On a programmatic level, it is also extreme: it has large hospitals, but no development rooms; it has approximately seventy kiosks, but no shopping; it has enormous but empty parks.
In the site to be intervened there are available and significant surroundings, but there are also real barriers: the railway, the walls of the hospitals, the old sheds and the industrial facilities. The aim of the project is to make a continuous park. The route of this linear park will be carried out by means of a pedestrian passage of metropolitan scale equipped with bicycle paths, bridges and roads. We propose to greatly encourage pedestrian activity, and incorporate educational, recreational, cultural and commercial activities to attract new people to the neighborhood, thus generating urban and social revitalization. We also suggest opening as many streets as possible following the 100x100m block layout.
